The XEN1210 is very suitable for compass use. It can be mounted in 3 direction on a PCB. It is radiation and latch up hardened and very suitable for use in space applications. In comparison with many existing compass solutions it offers a very low offset and offset temperature coefficient, making it very suitable for application where extra or continuous calibration is cumbersome.
The XEN1210 is the sensor that contains a single hall plate. It is packaged in a SFN8 package, so it can be soldered in 3 different orientations on a PCB, standing up or lying down. So 2 or 3D compass applications can be configured.
Although its usually more cost effective to mount the SFN8 directly in your product for easy we offer a pre-assembled 3D board with an LCC-20 footprint
